Invariably the questions of the good list comes up as a qustion from a child and at times, as a Santa, we ask the child if they have been good. Many will instantly say "Yes," but there are times in which they may stammer or even confess a small indiscretion, like not picking up their clothes, or fighting with their brother/sister. It is important to encourage them to be good at all times and as a Santa it is important to leave them with some sort of goal to strive for. Encoruage them that there is a way to always be on the Good List. The way to to that is to make them take the Six Pillars of Character oath. Six Pillars of Character 1. I promise to be a kid for Character. 2. I will be worthy of trust. 3. I will be respectful and responsible, 4. I will do what I must. 5. I will always act with farness. 6. I will show that I care Once they have taken the oath, announce that if they follow these rules they will always be on the Good List. (The author of the Six Pillars of Character is unknown to Santa's Society, if any one knows please sent the info so that credit can be acknowledged.)
