Santa's Society: A Portal for Santa's Connections is intended to be a not-for-profit umbrella support for the Santa community. At present, it is rudimentary in implementation; however, over the next couple of months the expectation is that the Santa's Society Portal has the tools and varying support needed for all Santas and local, regional, and national societies. In addition to a rich archive of articles in several categories, there will be a Santa Forum, Santa Chat, Events Calendar, links to all known Santa societies, organizations, and groups at local, regional, national, and international levels. (Assuming each organization does not object to being listed.)

In the Santa Yellow Pages, all of the vendors who serve the Santa Community will be cataloged. Please help us list them all; if you know of a source that is missing let us know.

As Santa Tim is pioneering video streaming, we anticipate becoming a media portal by adding video, Internet Santa phone book, original recordings of songs and other new technologies. Also, we firmly believe each Santa society or group as well as each Santa who wishes should have support in creating and publishing a web presence for all Santas.

When Regional Directors Chris Martens and Paul Raines published their Articles of Separation on Jingle Press Online, it was with the realization that a vacuum existed within the Santa Community.

Not a vacuum of leadership, since local, regional and other national societies have already formed, but rather a vacuum of communication, coordination and support for the greater Santa community. Sadly, the "A-List of Santas" has become several lists of Santas. With the very successful launch of Jingle Press Online as well as the Santas of Northern California, Santa Chris and Santa Paul approached Santa Walter to request technical support in creating the web site and tools needed to support all of the Santa societies that have and are forming. Shortly after that, Santa Tim published his article about some Santas feeling abandoned and orphaned. So, the concept of being a portal for the greater Santa Community includes groups or societies as small as a single Santa!

When considering the population of most areas, the Santa community is actually very small per capita. It is challenging to get all of the support and training desired in smaller, regional or local groups. With the convention Discover Santa 2008 being canceled and subsequently downsized, the opportunity to meet, train, and socialize has also downsized. While not being exactly sure who first coined the phrase "Santa Happenings" instead of relying on a single biannual convention, it makes sense. There is probably more Santa connections happening with the collapse of Discover Santa 2008 than if it had materialized. By helping recruit and train new Santas within our community, we actually will have a synergistic effect of doubling the number of Santas and tripling or more the demand for Santa's visits.

In forming the Santa's Society, Santas Chris, Paul and Walter are being guided by many comments from thoughtful and insightful people. The concept of a portal or gateway allows each Santa and all societies, groups, wreaths, chapters, lodges, cabins, or whatever, to have access to sophisticated tools for marketing, training, networking, and socializing in a broad-based way. But we need everyone's help. Please help us identify all of the Santa resources possible. By registering and requesting an upgrade to Author permissions, each of you may add links to the Yellow Pages and to the Web Links. We need to know who the Mall Photo companies are, and how to reach them. Also, all of the booking agencies should be listed here. Sources for Santa Suits, casual attire, Elves, Mrs. Claus's clothing, sewing patterns, etc. are needed. You get the picture? We need your help; please register and find a way to help us all.
